Cyslin Myr was a Jedi and the teacher of Mace Windu in the New Canon Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic - Mace Windu comic book miniseries.[1] This comic is Cyslin's only appearance (so far). The character is briefly mentioned in relation to Mace in some reference books.
Gender[]
In Cyslin Myr's only appearance, Cyslin is not referred to with any pronouns or gendered terms.[1] Mace Windu's character timeline in Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition has a single use of "her" for Cyslin,[2] while no pronouns are used when Cyslin is mentioned in Star Wars Timelines[3] or Jedi Pocket Expert.[4] Cyslin does not (as of yet) have an official databank or a dedicated encyclopedia entry to establish any gender.[Note 1]
Cyslin has breast development and does not cover her hair with a headscarf or other head covering. She wears some form of metal plating or jewelry on her head, but her hair is clearly visible and uncovered, including while in public.[1] All known adult female Mirialan Jedi who have hair wear it covered, whether in public or in private.[Note 2] It is ambiguous whether Cyslin is a gender non-conforming woman, nonbinary, chooses not to cover her hair for reasons other than these, or a combination of the above.
Notes[]
- ↑ As with the vast majority of the SW fandom, none of this wiki's editors have a Helmet Collection subscription, so any information affirmed by or stated only in that magazine might as well be non-canonical. — Immi Thrax (she/her)
- ↑ If there are any that don't, please let us know on this article's talk page! For example:
- Luminara Unduli: Jedi Master, always veiled
- Barriss Offee: As a Jedi, veiled or otherwise covered; (Spoilers for Tales of the Empire) during and after being an Inquisitor, uncovered
- Vernestra Rwoh: While she's a teenager and Jedi Knight in The High Republic books, she wears her hair uncovered, and then as an adult Jedi Master in Acolyte, she's completely bald.
