Mace Windu is a Jedi Master and a senior member of the Jedi High Council[3][4] since before his debut in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, which is set in 32 BBY.[5] As a Padawan in New Canon, he was taught by Cyslin Myr.[8] In both continuities, he trained Depa Billaba as his own Padawan.[9][10]
Mace has a distinctive lightsaber with a purple blade[7] and electrum plating.[source?] In both continuities, he is a master of the Form VII style of lightsaber combat.[3][4] In Legends, he originates a variant of Form VII called Vaapad.[note 3] The IU margin comments of The Jedi Path include Obi-Wan Kenobi writing of Mace's creation, "Qui-Gon won't let me study it." Ahsoka Tano later adds, "Nobody's allowed to study Vaapad."[11]
He is killed by Palpatine, with the aid of Anakin Skywalker, very shortly before Order 66.[6]

Notes[]
- ↑ Over a decade ago, there were seriously kriffed up debates about whether Mace Windu and others from Haruun Kal were a human group or a near-Human species. Still researching what, if any, licensed material gave fodder to people who argued for the latter. He was human in 2002![1] — Immi Thrax (she/her)
- ↑ Likely explanation for height discrepancies is OOU "oops".
- ↑ Research needed into post-split sources for Vaapad that aren't Fantasy Flight Games sourcebooks or trading card games.
